Ce jeune ensemble, formé par le guitariste Florent Souchet en 2013, joue un jazz jubilatoire, planant, qui dialogue, interpelle et semble interroger l'audience en permanence. "Talkin' about John" regroupe des musiciens parisiens qui s'emparent de la scène jazz avec la fougue, la soif, mais aussi et surtout les sensibilités de leur jeunesse. À travers ses compositions Florent Souchet revisite la formule classique du quintet, en alliant les timbres de la guitare et du saxophone soprano notamment.
Talkin' about John" tire son inspiration, entre autres, d'Oliver Nelson, d'Aaron Parks ou bien du second quintet de Miles Davis.
